Public/Private
In a Public/Private Partnership (or P3) transaction CFI operates as the financial partner in providing the capital to build the facility required. The project is then paid for by way of user fees. This type of financing removes the responsibilities and risks of ownership and yet provides the required service to the constituents without the need for public funding. As members of the Canadian Council for Public/Private Partnerships, we are actively involved as a provider of project financing and in some situations as a financial advisor to government bodies. Water Treatment and Sewage Treatment Plants are but two examples of this type of business.
CFI provides a source of flexible, long-term fixed rate financing to Municipalities, Universities, School Boards and Hospitals by way of alternative financing and leasing structures versus the traditional capital markets. For example, a complete school including equipment can be built and leased to the School Board with 100% financing provided by CFI. Similarly, a hospital or a parking garage for a hospital can be built and leased to the hospital by CFI.
The following is a list of projects for which CFI specializes in financing:
- Health Care
- Schools
- Waste Water Treatment
- Highways
CFI also specializes in the provision of asset backed financing and advisory services for infrastructure projects. CFI can provide construction and term financing by way of revenue bonds for periods up to 30 years.
