CFI has installed zoned heating and thermostats on timers that allow us to heat only when and where we need to. The application of stucco to the exterior minimizes heat loss. Sliding doors and windows also allow us to use fresh air to moderate our temperature.

Our structured financing division has the knowledge and experience to deal with this growing need, and we speak the language of public-private partnerships.

One of our key areas of experience in this category is the Hydro Electric, Cogeneration, and Alternate Energy Sector. These industries have become increasingly important the world over.

Our Energy Team is actively involved as a provider of project related non-recourse Hydro Electric financing, as well as Cogeneration & Alternate Energy financing (i.e., solar and wind generators). This type of project financing includes individually tailored construction, bridge or construction financing and long term credit facilities for energy projects. To date our activities include financing in Canada, the United States, India and the Philippines. Because of the depth of experience obtained by way of numerous energy financings, the Energy Team is able to provide out of the ordinary financial services including feasibility studies, project structuring, financial modeling, government advisory assistance and contract negotiation and development services to owners, operators and investors.

Our Energy Team is a member of several Independent Power Producers’ Organizations, and have been a member of the International Planning Committee for the annual conference of Hydro Vision. In addition, we are a member of the Canadian Electricity Association. Because of the reputation of our people and the Energy Team, we have provided speakers on a regular basis at national and international conferences dealing with energy production and we have assisted numerous independent power producers in the development and financing of plants throughout North America.

In our Cogeneration & Alternate Energy financing business, we have developed similar expertise to that in the Hydro Electric business. In all types of energy creating scenarios, CFI provides equity, subordinated debt financing, construction financing and long-term project financing.
